Tamagusuku Ryu Senjukai Frances Nakachi Ryubu Dojo (Senju kai Hawaii), was established in 1997 by Frances Nakachi Kuba Sensei to perpetuate and preserve Okinawan music, dance and cultural heritage in Hawaii and internationally.
Born and raised in Okinawa, Frances Nakachi Kuba Sensei began her Ryukyuan dance training at the age of three under the tutelage of Yoshiko Tanita Sensei and Mieko Kinjo Sensei, co-directors of Senju Kai Okinawa. Learn more about Frances Sensei's story.

Our Classes

Senju Kai Hawaii offers classes for students all ages and skill levels, from children to seniors, basic to advanced to certified, trained dancers. In our classes, students will learn Okinawan dance movements, postures and techniques, and Okinawan and Japanese language and etiquette. All are welcome! 2023 Cultural Fusion

Tamagusuku Ryu Senju Kai Hawaii 2023 Cultural Fusion

Celebrate with us at Hawaii Okinawa Center on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023!

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Cost: $70/person

The proceeds from the event will help the school fund recitals, purchase costumes and provide scholarships for students who are interested in furthering their skills by taking the certification test in Okinawa.
